2026 / 2027
Helping young people aged 11–18 encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and become committed followers of Christ.
"Discipleship is not information transfer — it is life transformation."
Who We Are
MBC Youth Ministry exists to walk alongside young people on their journey — wherever that journey begins. You don't need to have faith figured out to walk through our doors. You don't have to believe anything, perform anything, or pretend.
We gather every Friday evening for a free meal, honest conversation, and teaching that takes real questions seriously. Our goal isn't to fill seats — it's to build genuine disciples: young people who know Jesus personally, grow in faith practically, and live it out courageously.
Whether you're sceptical, searching, or already following — there is a place for you here.
I want to come →A place to meet Jesus personally and understand the gospel clearly
Prayer, Scripture, worship as a way of life — not just Sunday performance
Christian friendships and a genuine sense of belonging to something bigger
Young people who grow into serving, leading, and influencing others for Jesus
How It Works
Every young person is at a different stage. Our programme meets them there — and walks with them forward.
Asking questions, building trust. Safety and belonging come first. No pressure to believe — just genuine openness invited.
Beginning to respond to Jesus. Clarity, invitation, first steps. Moving from openness into practice, identity, and ownership.
Developing habits and identity. Rhythm, depth, resilience. Faith that holds when life is difficult.
Taking ownership, influencing peers. Faith moves outward into serving, leadership, and mission.
2026/2027
33 sessions across three terms — every one building on the last.

What We Teach
Every session takes real questions seriously. No pat answers. No pressure. Just honest exploration of what it means to follow Jesus.
Not the vague, mild figure of popular imagination — but the most compelling and unsettling person who ever lived. This session explores what Jesus actually claimed about himself, and why those claims can't be ignored.
"Jesus isn't just a good teacher — he made claims that force a response."
Not a horror story about an angry God demanding violence — but a radical act of love absorbing everything we carry so we can be free. The criminal on the cross had nothing to offer. And he got everything.
"Today you will be with me in paradise." — Luke 23:43
Faith isn't switching your brain off. It isn't the absence of doubt. It's trust based on evidence — and you exercise faith every day, in chairs, in other drivers, in friends. The question isn't whether you have faith. It's what you place it in.
"Faith is not certainty. It is trust in the middle of uncertainty."
Identity built on performance is fragile. What happens when you stop achieving? When the approval dries up? This session offers something different: an identity rooted in what God says about you — chosen, known, loved — before any performance at all.
"He chose us in him before the creation of the world." — Ephesians 1:4
You don't earn it. You don't deserve it. You can't lose it. Grace is one of the most radical ideas in any tradition — and one of the hardest to actually receive. This session invites you to stop performing and simply receive what's already given.
"It is by grace you have been saved... it is the gift of God." — Ephesians 2:8
Leadership isn't about age, title, or personality type. It's about influence — and every young person already has it. The question isn't whether you're a leader. It's what kind of leader you're being, right now, in your school, your home, your friendships.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young." — 1 Timothy 4:12
For the Whole Church
Every young person who walks through our doors is someone's answer to prayer. Here's how you can be part of it.
We need disciplers — not event helpers. People who will show up consistently, build real relationships, and walk alongside young people week by week. If you're interested in investing in the next generation, we'd love to talk.
Express interest →Pray for the young people by name. Pray for the leaders. Pray for Friday nights. Your prayers are the foundation of this ministry. Ask us for the prayer diary — we send one out each term.
Get the prayer diary →Know a young person aged 11–18? Invite them. Personal invitation is the single most powerful form of outreach we have. A warm word from someone they trust opens doors that no flyer ever will.
Get an invite card →When young people come on a Sunday, greet them warmly. Show them they belong to the wider church family — not just a Friday group. Integration into the whole congregation matters enormously.
Common Questions
Not at all. We explicitly design Autumn term for young people who are curious, sceptical, or have no faith background. The only thing we ask is openness — you're allowed to disagree, push back, and come to the end of it all still uncertain. You are welcome as you are.
MBC Youth Ministry is for young people aged 11–18. We welcome everyone — from those just starting secondary school through to sixth formers and college students. No one is too young or too old for this group.
We start with a free meal — cooked by our team every week. Then we have a time of worship and teaching (accessible, honest, and not preachy), followed by small group discussion where every young person can talk about what they've heard. We finish around 7pm. Leaders stay available to chat afterwards.
No. We go out of our way to ensure there is never pressure. When we have response sessions, they are unhurried and private — between the young person and God, with no public expectation. The goal is genuine faith, not performed agreement.
Nothing. The Friday session is completely free, including the meal. We believe financial cost should never be a barrier to a young person being part of this community.
Get in touch via email or phone (details below) and we'll send you a registration form. This covers basic details and gives us the information we need to look after your young person well. You can also just turn up on a Friday — the first night is always open.
That's completely normal — and we take it seriously. Our very first session is specifically designed for people who feel nervous or unsure what to expect. We ask leaders to arrive early, sit with young people during food, and make sure no one is left on their own. A young person who feels unnoticed on night one may not come back — we know that, and we work hard to prevent it.
Bring them. We mean it. We'd rather have your honest scepticism than your polite agreement. We believe questions are one of the best things you can bring into this space. Leaders won't give you pat answers — they'll take your questions seriously and explore them honestly with you.
Starting Autumn 2026
Whether you're a young person wondering what this is all about, a parent wanting to know more, or someone interested in volunteering — we'd love to hear from you.
Just show up on a Friday, or get in touch first. Either way, you're welcome.
Thanks for getting in touch. We'll be back to you within 48 hours.
